Dr. Takamaro Matsuura
- Director of Goshiki Hospital.
Osaka Medical School, M.D., Part-time Lecturer at the Osaka Medical
School. Vice chairman of the Kinki District Medical Facilities Council
of the National Health Insurance.
- Dr. Matsuura worked at Osaka Medical School Hospital in 1972,
and Saku General Hospital in Nagano Prefecture between 1972 and 1982,
where he served as a Head of Health Management Department in 1982.
In 1983 he was invited to the current Goshiki Hospital as a director.
Dr. Matsuura played a crucial role in the initiation of
advanced medical information systems in Goshiki-cho such as medical
IC cards and two-way optical fiber medical network systems.
IC cards help the efficient health management of town people through
the stored medical information on the cards, while
medical network systems enable real-time interactive medical
communication between doctors at hospitals and patients at home through
voices and images.
Dr. Matsuura's pastime hobbies are literary arts and traveling.
