- Professor Sano was born and grew up in Nara.
During his works at Dentsu Incorporation, he participated in
a MITI's experimental project of two-way CATV system (Hi-OVIS)
in Ikoma city near Osaka.
In 1985 he joined Kintetsu Railway Incorporation, where he,
as CEO, took a responsibility of Kintestu cable network system.
In 1990 he was invited as an advisor of CATV center
to Matsushita Electronic Corporation.
His career in this way has been filled with CATV-related works.
In 1994 he started his new academic career at the present institution.
- Professor Sano likes driving, while listening to his favorite music by
Dave Brubeck and Chage \& Asuka;
his average mileage a year is well over 30,000 kilometers.
His skill for steel photography is a professional level.
For more than 20 years he has been volunteering the making of
records and sound library for visually-handicapped people
in Nara Prefecture. Due to this work, he missed
a more entertaining opportunity to play golf, drink beers and sing
songs at Karaoke bar - a forced pastime for many Japanese corporate
employees.
He analyses himself as an energetic man who, however, gets bored
easily.
